Speyside -more than any other area of Scotland –
is probably the best known of all the malt districts. It's the
home of Glenfiddich and The Glenlivet,
Macallan, Aberlour and Strathisla; just to name a few.
At one time there were nearly 70 malt distilleries operating
in Speyside. Today 44 remain in operation and The
Malt Project visited 20.

Benromach, Cardhu, Cragganmore, Dufftown, Glen Grant, Glen Moray, Glendullan, Glenfarclas, Glenfiddich,
Gordon & Macphail, Longmorn, Macallan, Mortlach, Strathisla and The
Glenlivet.
We'll meet top blenders, distillery managers, chefs and private
bottlers. We'll find out how the famous Walker's shortbreads
relate to the whisky industry and join a private tasting at
the Dufftown Whisky Shop.
